The Swansea Tiger track and field teams competed at the 2017 Silver Fox Invitational hosted by Dutch Fork High School on Saturday.

For the girls, Danae Pough finished second in the long jump with a 20-9 mark. She also placed sixth in the 100m hurdles with a time of 18.47 seconds. Pough’s long jump performance was a PR.

On the boys’ side, the Tigers also picked up awards. Junior Jalen Parrish set PRs in three events. He was second in the triple jump with a 43-8 mark, third in the long jump with a 20-9, and third in the high jump as he cleared 5 feet-10 inches. Senior Marquis Sease posted a PR in the shot put with a top throw of 37-4.75, finishing in eighth place.

“I was really impressed with the both team’s overall performance,” said head coach Isaiah Perrin. “We are getting better and better each week.”

The Swansea Tigers will compete in the Cardinal Newman Invitational on March 22. The meet will be held at Richland Northeast High School in Columbia, S.C.
