Tigers Storm Back to Top Silver Bluff, 3-2

The Swansea High School volleyball surged ahead in the third set and overcame a 0-2 deficit to defeat Silver Bluff 3-2 on Tuesday night.

Silver Bluff led 2-0 going into the third set after winning 27-25 and 25-23 in the first stanzas. The Tigers fought hard during the next two sets as they posted a 27-25 and 25-18 win over the Bulldogs. In the end, Swansea could not be denied as they surged ahead one final time in a 15-11 fifth-set win.

The Tigers had a balanced effort on both the offensive and defensive ends as junior Bri Strobert led the way with 14 kills while hitting .500. She also had 2 blocks and 11 digs. Tiger junior Braulis Pimentel had a team-high of 18 digs, senior Leah Knight posted 11 digs, and sophomore Kaitlyn Studebaker had nine aces to go along  with her team-high 37 assists.

Swansea will host Gilbert on September 5. Come out and support your Tigers!
